Draw three columns on each sheet labeled red, white, and blue. Choose an everyday category for the first round, such as foods or things found at home.
What you need
- Paper
- Pencils
- Timer
A phone timer is handy for timed rounds. Set out supplies before guests arrive, and give the group one practice turn if the rules are new to them.
How to play
- Give players 90 seconds to write items that fit both the category and each color column.
- Read answers together. Each valid item earns one point, whether or not someone else wrote it.
- Do not score the same item twice in a single round unless it is genuinely a different example agreed by the group.
- Play three categories and add the totals. A tie can remain a tie.
Prompts and round ideas
- Foods
- Things in a garden
- Clothing
- Things at a picnic
- Animals or birds
- Objects found at home
Make it work for your group
For young children, remove the category restriction and simply name colored objects. Play verbally in a circle if paper is inconvenient.
A host’s note
Avoid requiring brand knowledge or national trivia. Everyday observations let more guests participate.
Plan your party flow
Explain the aim before handing out supplies, then demonstrate one turn. Let guests join as a player, helper, or spectator. Stop while the group is still enjoying the game rather than adding extra rounds just to fill time.
