Arrange guests in a circle and tell them that the game is about noticing costume details. People without costumes can participate with ordinary clothing or a chosen accessory.
What you need
- Paper
- Pencils
- Timer
A phone timer is handy for timed rounds. Set out supplies before guests arrive, and give the group one practice turn if the rules are new to them.
How to play
- Choose one volunteer and give everyone 30 seconds to observe their outfit.
- The volunteer steps behind a door with a helper and changes one removable detail, such as switching a scarf or moving a badge.
- They return. Each player writes one guess, then everyone reveals answers together. Correct guesses earn one point.
- Repeat with different volunteers for six rounds. Highest total wins; ties share the title.
Prompts and round ideas
- Move a badge
- Remove a scarf
- Switch a bracelet to the other wrist
- Turn a hat around
- Change a paper accessory
- Move a ribbon
Make it work for your group
Play cooperatively with young children: everyone discusses the change and makes one group guess.
A host’s note
Keep observations about clothing and accessories only. Never make someone’s body or appearance the puzzle.
Plan your party flow
Explain the aim before handing out supplies, then demonstrate one turn. Let guests join as a player, helper, or spectator. Stop while the group is still enjoying the game rather than adding extra rounds just to fill time.
