Give each guest a small stack of paper with one sheet per player. On the first sheet, everyone writes a playful Valentine-themed sentence and their name on the back.
What you need
- Paper
- Pencils
A phone timer is handy for timed rounds. Set out supplies before guests arrive, and give the group one practice turn if the rules are new to them.
How to play
- Pass stacks left. The next person reads the sentence and draws it on a new sheet, hiding the original underneath.
- Pass again. The next player sees only the drawing and writes a sentence describing it on the next sheet.
- Keep alternating drawing and writing until the stack returns to its original owner.
- Reveal each chain from beginning to end. There are no points; enjoy how the idea changed.
Prompts and round ideas
- A teddy bear delivers a giant cupcake
- A heart-shaped pizza goes skating
- A penguin writes a love letter
- A robot carries too many roses
- Two cats share a picnic
Make it work for your group
For younger players, alternate spoken descriptions with drawings and use adult helpers to handle the stacks.
A host’s note
Use gentle prompts that do not pair up real guests romantically. Artistic skill is irrelevant.
Plan your party flow
Explain the aim before handing out supplies, then demonstrate one turn. Let guests join as a player, helper, or spectator. Stop while the group is still enjoying the game rather than adding extra rounds just to fill time.
