Tape three large paper hearts to the floor with removable tape. Label them one, two, and three points and mark a throwing line a few feet away.

Players: 2–12Play time: About 15 minutesBest fit: Ages 5+

What you need

A phone timer is handy for timed rounds. Set out supplies before guests arrive, and give the group one practice turn if the rules are new to them.

How to play

  1. Give each player three beanbags. Everyone waits behind the throwing line.
  2. Toss one bag at a time. Score a bag if its center rests inside a heart; touching two hearts earns only the lower value.
  3. Retrieve bags once all three have landed and record the round total.
  4. Play three rounds. Add totals and share the win if there is a tie.

Prompts and round ideas

Make it work for your group

Use rolled socks instead of beanbags. For younger players, enlarge the hearts or bring the line closer.

A host’s note

Test removable tape on the floor first. Keep the throwing area clear and avoid slippery paper edges.

Plan your party flow

Explain the aim before handing out supplies, then demonstrate one turn. Let guests join as a player, helper, or spectator. Stop while the group is still enjoying the game rather than adding extra rounds just to fill time.
